Our Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

With the latest recommendations from the CDC and after talking to medical professionals and seeking the input of the deacon body and many members of the church, we feel lead to move all of our meetings to an on-line or virtual format until further notice. We will continue to monitor the advice of the medical community and the directives from the government so as to know when to move our services back to our campus. Our first on-line only service will be this Sunday on Facebook Live. The service will start at our regular time of 10:45. It will be a service of singing, prayer, and the study of God’s Word just like always. We would ask that you remain faithful in your commitment to attend worship as a family. You will just be around a screen instead of in person. I will start the live video at 10:30 so we can have some fellowship time before the service starts. We can use the comments section to fellowship with one another before and after the service. In the days ahead we plan on adding more on-line content and we will be working with our Sunday School teachers to maintain as much normalcy as possible.

I will be continuing to reach out to all of our church family to see how we can minister to you as well as how we can reach out to our community with the love of Christ. I am still your pastor and want to continue to meet your spiritual needs and assist with your physical needs. Please let me know how I can help you. I ask that you pray for me during this time as I find new ways to minster and help meet people’s needs. I would encourage all of us to practice social distancing, but we also need to stay focused on spiritual closeness, remembering that we are one in Christ and that He is always with us and will never forsake us. Get creative and use your newfound free time to draw near to God. Share your ideas of how to accomplish this with others. There will be opportunities to be salt and light in our world during this current crisis and I want to encourage you to continue to be joyful shining examples of God’s children. Remember, we don’t go to church, we ARE the church. And when people ask you why you can be joyful in times like these, remember 1 Peter 3:15 which tells us to always be prepared to give an answer for the joy that you have.

During this time, I would also ask all of you to remain faithful in your giving to the church. Ebenezer needs to remain faithful so we can honor our commitments that we have made to support missions and community ministries that, according to Acts 1:8, minister to our, “Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We also need to remain faithful in our giving so we can continue to pay our bills and salaries as a church. Most importantly, we all need to remain faithful in our giving because it is an act of worship that honors God. There are several options of how to give during this time. You can mail a check to the church. The address will be in the comments section of this video. Or remember our new online giving option. I will also add that link in the comments section below. I thank you for your faithfulness and continued support of Ebenezer and its ministries.

As of right now, our church office is in full operation. I will include all of our contact information in the comment section of this video. Don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything that we can do for you. Please pray for me, Danny, the deacons and other church leaders as we navigate these uncharted waters. Pray for the medical personnel and first responders as they do their part to help keep people safe. Pray for our government leaders that they make wise choices to keep us all safer. Pray for those who have been affected by this virus and pray that God will keep it from affecting more people. Above all, pray that God will use you in this time to make an impact for His kingdom.
